A restaurant franchise that specializes in serving soups has announced plans to open a Grand Junction location. Zoup! Fresh Soup Co. is scheduled to open this fall in the Chinle Plaza at Seventh Street and North Avenue. Terry and Joya Piland, along with their daughter, Lacie Piland, own and operate the franchise.
“We as a family are excited to be the first to bring the Zoup! brand and culture west of the Continental Divide,” said Lacie Piland, general manager of the Grand Junction restaurant. “Zoup! is a unique concept, and we are anxious to offer local residents hundreds of soups and delicious sandwiches and salads.”
Zoup! serves hundreds of soups, with 12 soups rotating each day on the menu. Low-fat, dairy free and vegetation options are available. Each order is served with a piece of fresh-baked bread. The fast casual restaurant also serves made-to-order sandwiches and salads. Zoup! offers online ordering as well as catering.
The first Zoup! location opened in 1998 in Southfield, Mich. Within five years, five more locations opened in the Detroit area. The franchise since has grown to a total of nearly 50 locations in 10 states, the District of Columbia and Canada.
Zoup! ranked fourth in the lastest ranking of 100 top brands compiled for the restaurant industry Web site at FastCasual.com and 300th in a ranking of the top 500 franchises compiled by Entrepreneuer magazine.
